Obama says: To the Moon Alice! To the Moon!
Presidential front-runner Barrack Obama has released a 6 page document detailing his policy regarding the space program should he be elected president. In the report Obama called for continued work on the Constellation program, a program he said earlier he’d cut in favor of using the money for education, and a return to the moon by 2020.
spacetoday.net: “The six-page document states that the candidate supports one of the key milestones of the Vision for Space Exploration, the return of humans to the Moon by 2020. The policy also states that Obama would work to minimize the gap between the Shuttle and Constellation programs, and add one additional Shuttle flight to the current manifest to fly a scientific payload to the ISS. The policy also expresses support for further commercialization efforts within NASA, reform of space-related export control restrictions, and calls for a ban on weapons in space.”

If we’re so keen to go back to the moon, why don’t we just use the Apollo rockets that we used before?
Oh, wait… that didn’t really work, did it?
